Notice regarding manual corporate Ministry Filings:


As the end of the year draws closer and deadlines become more urgent, Dye & Durham is here to assist you with your filings at the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services (MGCS).


As we approach year-end, filing volumes at the MGCS increase significantly which can result in longer wait times and delays in filing.


In order to secure your filing date, we strongly recommend that documents be post-dated and submitted to Dye & Durham at the earliest opportunity.


Here are some helpful tips to ensure the timely and successful filing of your documents:

  1. Email all filings to [email protected]. The MGCS now accepts all documents without the need for original signatures. Email is the safest and fastest way to submit your filings to us.
  2. Post-date your Ontario Articles up to 30 days in advance. To ensure your documents are dated as required, please submit your documents in advance of your filing deadline.
  3. Check your documents for the most common deficiencies that lead to rejections:

a.  Missing Cover Letter and Supporting Documents (e.g. Amalgamation Agreement, Special Resolutions or Statement of Director)

b.  Incorrectly numbered pages

c.  NUANS search missing for Incorporations and Amendments

d.  Incorrect corporation name and number

Dear Ontario Litigation Customers,

Notice Regarding Ontario Court Filings

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we navigate the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions and service limitations at the courts across Ontario and Canada. We are working closely with the government so we can continue to provide our customers with the level of service you have come to expect from Dye & Durham. Although this has been a challenging time for us and our customers, we have taken this opportunity to improve our processes by utilizing technology and streamlining communication.

To better serve you, we have implemented the following changes:

1. Technology improvements

  • We have equipped our road staff with tablets to allow for more timely updates on your services and filings
  • Invested in high capacity scanners to allow for better quality and faster delivery of your reports and documents
  • Transitioned more of our customers onto Legal i Link, which offers the option to upload documents in place of manual pick-ups, with the ability to track your orders, access your documents, and communicate with us from anywhere, any time


2. Improved communication

  • All customers receive a personal email from their assigned Process Server and/or Filing Clerk (in addition to Legal i Link updates) regarding same day or urgent requests
  • Significantly improved response times to calls and emails, with a dedicated Customer Success Manager and Customer Support Associates


As courts gradually reopen, Dye & Durham continues to be fully operational and we are committed to providing frequent updates on service levels, operating hours and documents permitted for filing across all Ontario Courts.

To avoid delays and maintain the highest safety standards, we will continue to eFile all eligible documents until all Ontario courts resume full operations.

Updated Notice - Ontario Legislative Amendments to Support Ministry Filings


In response to the declared emergency caused by COVID-19, the Government of Ontario passed legislative amendments to encourage social distancing in the process of submitting ministry filings in Ontario.


Document copies

Copies of articles, applications, and other documents may now be submitted


Electronic signatures

Documents signed by electronic signatures instead of original signatures may now be submitted


Electronic filings

Documents to be filed by an electronic method (e.g., email) that is specified by the Minister, Director, or Registrar are now accepted.


Dye & Durham is here to help! We are immediately available to support the new electronic legislation with same-day service on filings submitted via email with electronic signatures. We continue to offer same-day filing services, a review of all documents by our experienced staff and creation of Cover Letters.

Dye & Durham COVID-19 Telecoms Update

As public and private sector businesses are following government guidelines to reduce exposure to COVID-19, many employees are working from home / remotely. This has had a dramatic increase in demand on the country’s telecommunications infrastructure, in particular for voice calls and internet access.

We have been informed by our telecommunications providers that the entire telecommunications industry is aware of intermittent issues for some customers caused by spikes in demand which at times exceed capacity, and they are working as quickly as possible to fix these issues.

As customers, we understand that it is frustrating when you are unable to get through to us. If you're experiencing busy signals, we ask that if your call isn’t urgent to phone back another time, alternatively please email.

D&D internal telephone systems are working as designed. As the telecoms providers and the industry respond to the unprecedented demand on their services, we'll start to see the issues remediated and we are working with our telecommunication providers to ensure this happens as quickly as possible.
